2024 Impact
The Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI) has made a significant impact on San Jose’s arts and cultural sector. In 2024 alone, BAGI engaged over 10,000 individuals through hands-on experiences, including rentals, classes, and corporate events. Under the board’s leadership, the organization achieved a record $1.7 million in revenue, ensuring financial sustainability and reinvestment into both the community and its facilities.
BAGI actively supports the local arts scene by employing 25 artists, offering programs to schools, awarding scholarships, and hosting world-renowned visiting artists for teaching sessions. More than 20 working artists and numerous hobbyists benefited from studio rentals, glass pumpkin patches, and the BAGI Night Live program, collectively reaching 19,000 people.
Digitally, BAGI expanded its reach, connecting with over 600,000 individuals through its website, social media, and newsletters. The organization also played a vital role in enhancing San Jose’s cultural vibrancy by partnering with History Park San Jose and the City of San Jose. Through in-person events such as First Fridays and Xmas in the Park, BAGI’s free glassblowing demonstrations and art exhibits captivated over 100,000 attendees.
This remarkable level of engagement underscores BAGI’s leadership, the community’s strong support, and the organization’s essential role in enriching San Jose’s cultural landscape.
