Prepare For Your Visit: Helpful Information

How to Prepare

  • Sign our Liability Waiver. (Note: if you purchased seats in a class or experience for more than just you, please make sure that everyone you purchased for has also signed the liability waiver.)
  • Arrive on time for your class.  We recommend that you arrive a few minutes early, and if you are more than 15 minutes late, you need to reschedule.
  • For all classes, you should wear closed-toe shoes (no heels or flip flops, etc.) Long hair must be tied back.
  • Make sure you and your group meet the minimum age requirements.

Stay Hydrated

  • Bring a bottle of water; we have a bottle-filling station onsite.

Wear Proper Clothing

  • For all classes, you should wear closed-toe shoes (no heels or flip flops, etc.) Long hair must be tied back.
  • Hotshop- the hotshop can be warm! Especially when it is your turn to sit at the bench. Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to allow airflow.
  • Fusing and Flame studios - not as warm as the hotshop, here is how you can prepare:
    • Fusing- no clothing restrictions, wear what you are comfortable working in.
    • Flame- please wear cotton clothing that you are comfortable working in.

Take Breaks

  • Take frequent rest breaks in a shaded or cooler area to allow your body to cool down.
  • Pace yourself and slow down if needed. Know your limits for working safely in the heat.

Other Precautions

  • Use cooling methods like damp rags around the neck.
  • Be alert for signs of heat illness in yourself and coworkers like dizziness, nausea, and muscle cramps.

The key is to stay hydrated, take breaks to cool down, wear proper clothing, use cooling techniques, and be aware of heat illness symptoms when working in hot conditions.

Picking Up Your Glass

  • All glass work will be ready for pick up one week after your class unless otherwise notified. You will NOT be notified when your work is ready for pickup. Pick Up Hours are Weekends 9 am - 4 pm and weekdays, 10 am - 6 pm. Work will be bagged and labeled with the date of your class, the name you gave to your instructor, and what you made. All work will be on the pick-up shelves at the front entrance—please ask a staff member to help!
  • We will hold your work for up to 3 months

Food and Drink

  • You are welcome to cater outside food/drink into the studio.  We just ask that no one drink alcohol before arriving. We do provide water.
  • If you are planning to cater your event, please let us know so that we can set up tables and chairs for your guests. We also have a courtyard with picnic tables when the weather is suitable.
