Join us for the Inaugural BAGI NIGHT LIVE! featuring Artist, Instructor, and BAGI Staff Member Michael Sopkin
BAGI NIGHT LIVE! is a new series of community events in our studios where a featured local artist gives a live glassblowing demonstration and an artist talk detailing some of their process, inspiration and journey. This free event is open to everyone and will take place on Friday, June 14th, 2024 beginning with Sopkin's artist talk at 7:00 pm. After his artist talk, we will move into the hotshop and watch how he creates his beautiful works of glass art, which will also be on display and for sale in the BAGI Gallery. Michael Sopkin was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA. He has been working with glass since he was fifteen. Michael enjoys making work where there is a relationship between the maker and the viewer. He loves the way light makes an impact on glass, how it lights it up and gives glass an opportunity to glow with all of its hues and density of colors.
