Julia Cordi: "Abstract and Animals - Sculpting from Reality and Your Imagination"
The Bay Area Glass Institute welcomes Visiting Artist Julia Cordi to teach her 5-day class "Abstract and Animals - Sculpting from Reality and Your Imagination" from April 14th to 18th, 2027. In this class, Julia will teach a variety of sculpting and color techniques with the hope that students gain an understanding of proportions, the necessary planning it takes to accomplish their goals, and learn to work as a team to achieve their vision - read more below. Mark your calendar for Community Night with Julia Cordi on Friday, April 16th at 7:00 p.m. where Julia will share a brief artist talk about her work and journey before she treats us to a live glassblowing demonstration where we will see how she brings her visions to life in glass.
"Abstract and Animals - Sculpting from Reality and Your Imagination"
Julia will share different ways of sculpting the bubble, solid working, and applying color and surface textures. Students will gain a better understanding of making a sculpture, from the beginning stages of planning, to efficient assembly, and working together with your team. In this class Julia hopes to work with the students to help them bring their work to the next level.
