Prerequisites: None
Instructor: Kathleen Elliot
This class will explore a technique commonly called “networking” with borosilicate glass. It’s a lovely, manageable introduction to sculptural flameworking for those who are new to glass, and it can be scaled to any level of expertise.
Networking is creating a lattice using thin glass rods and building it into a structure. Networking can be used to create an infinite variety of two and three-dimensional pieces: animals, birds, vessels, ornaments, dream catchers, flowers, leaves and fruits— anything you can dream up.
Beginners will start with making small 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional objects of the student’s choosing. Those with some networking experience may make more complex forms.

How to choose: Glass Experience, or Studio Class?
-
If you’ve never interacted with art glass before and just want a casual introduction to the medium, you’ll want to book a Glass Experience. These are half-day sessions that are a lot of fun, whether solo or with a group.
These make for great team-building events, and we also have seasonal experiences where you can make pieces that are season or holiday-specific.
If you have a Groupon for BAGI, then the Glass Experience is for you—book here.

If you’re ready to dig deep and start on the right path to becoming a proficient glass artist, you’ll want to book a Studio Class.
