Nicole Berger: "Building the Boro Toolbox: Foundations in Color, Shaping & Texture"
BAGI is excited to welcome the talented Nicole Berger to our Flame Shop to teach her class "Building the Boro Toolbox: Foundations in Color, Shaping & Texture" from March 4th through 8th. In addition to her class, Nicole will share her style, techniques, and journey with an artist talk and live demonstration at Community Night on March 6th at 7:00 pm.
"Building the Boro Toolbox: Foundations in Color, Shaping & Texture" is a 5-day intensive focusing on exploring color application, surface texture, and basic shaping, with an emphasis on experimentation, intentional design, and developing confidence on the torch.
Students will build a personal library of forms and textured components through a series of guided demos and exercises, then assemble those elements into a final object or objects of their choice. Techniques covered include color prep, turning rods into tube, layering, experimenting with texture, shaping hollow tube, and basic assembly. This course is designed for students looking to strengthen their understanding working with boro and expanding their ability to translate visual ideas into form. This is an immersive, technique-rich class designed to challenge and expand your current skill set.
