Jonathan Chi: Introduction to Venetian Glassblowing - Goblets

 

Jonathan Chi is a hot glass artist with international experience working in many facets of the profession including studio management, technical consulting, production blowing, and teaching. His glass education includes courses at Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Crafts, Haystack Mountain School, San Jose State University, and the University of California, San Diego Crafts Center, taught by some of the industry's leading professionals.

This spring, Jonathan will join us at the Bay Area Glass Institute to teach a five-day Hotshop intensive course - "Introduction to Venetian Glassblowing: Goblets" that will push the students’ ability to quickly and efficiently execute thin and proportional vessels. A primary goal of this class is to have students gain comfort with iterating this approach and combining the constituent parts into simple stemware.
